TIM HORTONS
I’ve produced spots in the US, the UK, Portugal, Spain, Cuba, Jamaica, but the Philippines was maybe the most exotic - and perplexing. I remember watching an army of grips - like 12+ guys - climb onto the roof of a house (with no safety gear) to put up one 20x20 frame of muslin on the roof. Visions of insurance claims flashed before my eyes. The entire film crew / chain of command / assignment of responsibility was like nothing I had ever seen, but we got through it. The trickier part was getting these lovely real families to keep a secret from their relatives as we flew them home to Manila from Toronto for an unannounced reunion over a double double. It was a wild shoot. I ate chicken feet for the first time. They call them “Adidas” - because the feet look like the logo. Now you know!
