MASTERCARD

Collabs are so hot right now. This one - Mastercard x Cirque du Soleil - was a real dance. We had to abide by strict guidelines in terms of the usage and presentation of all things Cirque. And it was one of those third-party client mandates. Agency’s client was Mastercard, who themselves knew nothing of Cirque’s protocols. But we wanted a faithful representation of BTS action at a Cirque show. So I found us a production designer with actual first hand Cirque experience, and after countless consultations and reviews, we got our backstage world approved. We also had to find the bendiest kids in the GTA to play our stars. Then we sold through an “era-agnostic” visual aesthetic, to give the piece of more timeless feel. The whole production felt like a contortion in and of itself, but the end result is a whimsical little story of branded wonder.
