LA ROCHE POSAY
How do you ensure cancer patients (and non-actors) - who are only recently in remission (and thus still immunocompromised) - feel comfortable on a set, in the time of COVID, while also not emotionally triggering them as they essentially relive tender moments of cancer treatment? Answer: with grace and sensitivity and impeccable set-side manners. Sometimes producing is less about logistics, and more about careful people management. Between the director and myself, we held the hands (literally and figuratively) of some lovely and brave people who were reluctantly willing to share in a story of the triumph of love over fear, and how a La Roche Posay product can truly be an agent of good. These jobs often remind you of both how small the world of advertising is (in comparison to the gravity of life), but also how it can serve to normalize and render more human certain experiences that can feel so lonely and scary.
